๐งต YarnTally for Yarn / Textile Wholesale ยท India
๐ฆ Built by MNB Research
The textile ERP that knows yarn and audits itself.
Yarn is sold by weight, and weight moves with the weather. YarnTally separates moisture drift from real stock loss, raises mill short-weight claims on commercial weight, keeps every PDC against its NI Act s.138 dates, keeps every dalal's brokerage in your books, and stops a s.269ST cash receipt before it is saved. Built inside a family yarn business with 11+ godowns.

Moisture drift vs real loss
Every stock-count line split into expected moisture drift and unexplained kg, using your regain table and optional meter readings at receipt and at count. The shrinkage report shows unexplained loss in kg and rupees by godown, fibre, month and by who counted โ for you to review. On Business, with physical stock counts.
โ๏ธ
Commercial-weight mill claims
Short-weight claims on conditioned weight โ weight ร (1 + agreed regain) รท (1 + measured regain) โ refused inside your tolerance, valued at the PO price where it is comparable, and printed with every step of the arithmetic for the mill to check. On Growth.
๐งพ
PDC register + s.138 clock
Cheques received and issued: in hand, deposited, cleared, bounced, re-presented. Deposit diary and the RBI three-month validity. A bounce reverses the payment and starts the NI Act clock โ 30 days to send notice, 15 for the drawer to pay, one month to file โ with late and missed dates flagged. Every plan.
๐ค
Dalal ledger
Brokerage as % of value, Rs per kg or Rs per bag, on a sale or a PO. Payouts with s.194H TDS suggested, a printable statement โ and, before you trust the next introduction, how many cheques that dalal's customers bounced and what they still owe. Every plan.
๐ค AI Copilot: 'What sold today in Ghaziabad godown?' or 'Who hasn't ordered in 45 days?' โ voice input in Hindi.
Where youโre bleeding
Pain that YarnTally kills
๐ง
Every winter, stock โgoes missingโ
Cotton received in the monsoon weighs less in a dry December. One variance number cannot tell drying from cartons walking out โ so you either chase ghosts every winter or stop looking, which is exactly when real loss starts.
๐งพ
A drawer full of PDCs and a dalal notebook
Two hundred post-dated cheques, fifteen dalals, brokerage settled from memory. A bounce noticed three weeks late leaves days to send the s.138 notice โ five weeks late, and the criminal remedy may be gone.
๐
The CA finds it in March
A micro or small mill's bill still unpaid on 31 March, past its 45 days โ under s.43B(h) that purchase is not deductible this year. A Rs 2.5 lakh cash receipt from one customer โ a s.271DA penalty equal to the amount. Both found at year end, when they can no longer be fixed.

Data deletion on request
Ask for your organisation's data to be erased from Settings. Before you press anything, the screen lists what is erased and what GST law makes us keep โ books and invoices for 72 months (CGST Act s.36, Rule 56). A person carries it out; nothing is hard-deleted automatically.
How it works โ and where it stops
Six things a textile trader's software should do, done properly
Each of these was built because the family business this software runs in needed it. Each one says on its own screen where its numbers come from and what it cannot know. Here is the same, before you pay.
๐ง
Moisture drift is not stock loss
Business โ with physical stock counts
Yarn takes up water in humid air and gives it back in dry air. You keep a regain table per fibre and per SKU โ dated defaults of 8.5% for cotton and 0.4% for polyester, to be checked against your mill contracts. Meter readings at receipt and at count are optional; nothing new is mandatory on the godown floor. Each count line shows book kg, expected moisture drift, unexplained kg and a classification, and the shrinkage report shows unexplained loss in kg and rupees by godown, fibre, month and by who counted. How a posted count adjusts stock is unchanged.
Where it stops: It shows unexplained loss for you to review; it does not say why it happened. A carton-only count cannot show drift, and a line with no meter reading assumes standard regain and says so. It is a model built on hand-held readings, not a lab conditioning test.
Short weight is argued on conditioned (commercial) weight: weighed weight ร (1 + agreed regain) รท (1 + measured regain). A claim inside your tolerance is refused rather than raised, because a rejected claim costs credibility on the next one. It is valued at the purchase-order price where that is comparable, and the printed note shows every step for the mill to check.
Where it stops: The result is only as good as the meter reading and the regain you agreed with the mill. Formal disputes are settled by laboratory testing.
Every cheque received or issued moves in hand โ deposited โ cleared or bounced โ re-presented, and each move is checked so an impossible one is refused. The deposit diary shows what to bank and when; staleness is checked against the three-month validity. Clearing a received cheque records the customer's payment exactly once โ a double tap cannot create two. A bounce reverses that payment by marking it, keeps the history and records charges recoverable from the drawer, then computes the notice, payment and complaint dates. The bounce count shows on the customer's page and next to their name on the sell screen; if it cannot be read it says โunknownโ, never โcleanโ.
The law it follows: Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 โ s.138 (notice within 30 days of the return memo; 15 days to pay) and s.142(1)(b) (complaint within one month after). Cheque validity: three months, RBI, from 1 April 2012.
Where it stops: It tracks the dates; it does not send notices or advise on a case. Not legal advice, and the screen says so.
Brokerage in all three conventions used in yarn markets โ % of value, Rs per kg, Rs per bag โ on a sale or a purchase order. It is computed per deal from the saved sale or PO rather than stored, and a deal whose brokerage cannot be computed says so instead of guessing. Payouts suggest TDS from dated rates you can edit. Each dalal's page shows deals, volume, customers introduced, how many cheques those customers bounced and what they still owe.
The law it follows: Income-tax Act, 1961, s.194H โ 2% from 1 October 2024, above Rs 20,000 a year from 1 April 2025.
Where it stops: The TDS figure is a suggestion; the person recording the payout can change it, and whether you must deduct at all depends on your own turnover.
Cash guards every plan ยท MSME list and interest statements on Growth
A cash receipt that would take one customer to Rs 2 lakh or more in a day, or against one bill, is blocked on the receipt form; an admin can override only with a written reason, kept on an append-only log. Cash paid to a mill or on an expense above the s.40A(3) limit is warned and the acknowledgement recorded. The MSME screen lists, bill by bill, which micro and small mills must be paid by when, and the 31 March exposure if they are not. Every threshold is dated and editable.
The law it follows: Income-tax Act, 1961 โ s.269ST with s.271DA, s.40A(3), s.43B(h); MSMED Act, 2006 โ s.15 (45 days at most, 15 without agreement) and s.16 (interest at three times the RBI bank rate, monthly rests).
Where it stops: The โone event or occasionโ limb of s.269ST cannot be worked out from data, and the form says so. A supplier registered on Udyam as a trader is treated as not covered โ confirm with your CA. Not legal or tax advice.
An internal audit that runs every day, not every March
Growth โ auditor pack on Scale
Every morning 18 checks run against your own books: gaps and out-of-order dates in the GST invoice series, cash receipts at the s.269ST limit, cash payments above s.40A(3), MSME bills heading past 43B(h), e-way bills split to stay under the threshold, duplicate bills, back-dated entries, sales below the damage-adjusted floor, credit-limit breaches, cancellations and stock adjustments, yarn shrinkage, repeat cheque bouncers, s.138 deadlines, related parties, dalal brokerage anomalies, round-sum cash expenses, and a Benford first-digit test. Each finding names the transactions behind it and the money at stake. It closes only with a written note from someone who did not make the entry โ the database enforces that, not the screen.
The law it follows: CGST Rules, 2017 โ rule 46(b) and rule 138; Income-tax Act, 1961 โ s.269ST, s.40A(3), s.43B(h); Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 โ s.138. Every threshold is a dated default your admin can change.
Where it stops: It flags patterns for review; it is not an audit opinion and never says anything is fraud. Many findings will have innocent explanations โ the point is that the explanation is written down before your CA asks. A check that could not run (a missing table, too little data for Benford) is shown as could-not-run, never as clean.
Section numbers are those of the Income-tax Act, 1961, which is how they are still commonly cited. The Income-tax Act, 2025 applies from 1 April 2026 under its own numbering โ confirm the current citation with your CA.

FAQ
Common questions
Will it tell me my staff are stealing?+
No, and it is careful not to. It shows unexplained loss โ what is left after expected moisture drift and a tolerance band โ by godown, fibre, month and by who counted, for you to review. A carton-only count cannot show drift, a line with no meter reading assumes standard regain and says so, and it is a model built on hand-held readings rather than a lab test. What it does is stop moisture from hiding everything else.
Which plan has which of these?+
The cheque register with s.138 dates, the dalal ledger and the s.269ST / s.40A(3) cash guards are on every plan, Starter included. The MSME 43B(h) pay-by list, interest statements and mill short-weight claims are on Growth. Physical stock counts with the moisture split, the shrinkage report and the Trade/EXIM suite are on Business.
Is the s.138, 43B(h) and s.269ST logic legal advice?+
No, and every one of those screens says so. Each threshold is shown with the date it was last checked and can be changed by your admin, because the law changes and your CA may read a provision differently. Section numbers are those of the Income-tax Act, 1961; the Income-tax Act, 2025 applies from 1 April 2026 under its own numbering.
Does it work offline in signal-dead godowns?+
Partly, and we are specific about which parts. Install it on any Android or iPhone; counting stock and reporting damage keep working with no signal, held on the phone and uploaded when you have bars again. Billing needs signal on purpose โ two phones selling the same lot offline would promise stock that is not there.
What does the internal audit actually check?+
Eighteen things, every morning, on Growth and above: the GST invoice series, s.269ST and s.40A(3) cash, MSME 43B(h), e-way bill splitting, duplicate and back-dated bills, below-floor sales, credit-limit breaches, cancellations, stock adjustments, yarn shrinkage, repeat bouncers, s.138 deadlines, related parties, dalal brokerage and round-sum cash expenses, plus a Benford test once you have enough invoices. It flags patterns for review โ it is not an audit opinion โ and a finding can only be closed with a written note by someone other than the person who made the entry. On Scale, the auditor pack hands your CA the year's register in one file.
Multi-city, multi-godown?+
Two godowns on Starter, 5 on Growth, unlimited on Business, Scale and Enterprise. Every lot is godown-scoped. Transfers between godowns with audit trail.
Export documentation โ EDPMS / FIRC / LC?+
All of it, on Business and above. EDPMS with 9-month RBI aging view. FIRC bulk allocation across many EDPMS bills. LC drawdowns. FX gain/loss view.
Pricing for a 5-godown wholesaler?+
Five godowns fit Growth (Rs 7,999/mo), which also runs the internal audit engine every day. Business (Rs 19,999) is unlimited godowns, 40 users, physical stock counts with the shrinkage report and the full trade suite; Scale (Rs 39,999) adds the year-end auditor pack and assisted onboarding from Tally; bigger groups go Enterprise.
